Through education, mentorship, and competition, the SPSF aims to elevate the sport by fostering a welcoming community for amateur sailors of all ages and backgrounds.
The St. Petersburg Sailing Foundation is a nonprofit organization rooted in the belief that sailing should be accessible, rewarding, and community-driven. We invest in people first, supporting youth and adults through inclusive programs that build skills, confidence, and a lifelong connection to sailing.
Our mission goes beyond racing. We are committed to building a stronger, more inclusive sailing community. Through grants, scholarships, and partnerships, we help remove barriers to entry and ensure more people have the opportunity to learn, compete, and thrive in the sport we love—for a season, a lifetime, or even a future career on the water.

Fuel the future of sailing by funding training, outreach, and scholarships.

From junior Opti sailors to adult match racers, we help individuals hone their competitive edge. Our financial assistance and grant programs support skill-building at local, national, and international levels.
We partner with local organizations to make sailing more accessible. Through scholarships, outreach, and beginner instruction, we create meaningful opportunities for underserved communities.
Thanks to SPSF’s support, I had the opportunity to compete at a high level, grow as a sailor, and gain valuable experience I’ll carry into future events.
We award grants and scholarships four times a year to support amateur sailors and community organizations. Applications are due March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1.
